Once your PC has been restarted - you should be ready to use your lead.
To find out what com port your lead is installed on - please see this

Problems:
If your PC fails to detect the new hardware and prompt driver installation it may be that your PC already has
the drivers installed from some previous hardware. In this case you are ready to start using the hardware without
driver installation.
If the scan tool software fails to detect the interface, try the following:
- Check that you have the correct com port selected (tutorial here).
- Ensure the baud rate is 38400
- Ensure the USB is plugged in properly
- Try rebooting your PC and start again
If you fail to communicate with the vehicle, check the following:
- vehicle must be 2001+ petrol or 2004+ diesel or is likely not OBD2/EOBD compatible
- Check your ignition is on (engine does not have to be on)
- Check the lead is plugged snugly
